Connecting Your Businesses
When you add the connector, ShopStable opens a consent screen in your browser. This is where you decide what the assistant may touch.
Signing in
If you aren't already signed in to ShopStable, you'll be asked to log in first. The connection is tied to your account: the assistant can only ever do what your own account allows.
Choosing businesses
The consent screen lists every business you belong to:
- Businesses where you can edit the website can be selected. During the open beta that's every business you have website access to.
- Others are shown greyed out with the reason (e.g. "no website access").
Select one, several, or all of your eligible businesses — like installing a GitHub App on chosen repositories. In conversation, the assistant always confirms which business it's working on by name, and asks when several are granted.
What access means
The connection has a fixed, non-negotiable scope:
- Can: read and edit website drafts, upload images to your media library.
- Can never: publish your website. Publishing is a button only you can click, and the server enforces it — it isn't a promise, it's a wall.
How long it lasts
Choose an expiry at consent: 30 days, 90 days, or 1 year (the default). When a connection expires, the assistant simply asks you to reconnect — nothing is lost.
Team accounts
If you're part of a business team, you can only grant businesses where your role includes website editing. If your role changes later, the connection's access changes with it immediately — permissions are checked live on every request.
