Watching Live and Publishing#

The live editor#

The assistant works on your draft — a separate version of your site, like a branch. Your published site never changes until you say so. With the editor open you can:

• watch sections appear and change in real time, with the presence banner narrating ("Website Assistant is building — Services section");
• toggle Follow mode to have the canvas track the assistant section by section;
• click any element and say "make this bigger" — the assistant sees what you're pointing at;
• edit anything yourself, any time. If you and the assistant collide, the builder's conflict guard makes the stale change fail loudly instead of silently overwriting either of you.

Prompts to guide the work#

Use short, direct feedback while you watch. These are good examples:

Stop after this section and show me the phone preview before you continue.

Make the main call-to-action easier to notice, but keep the rest of this page unchanged.

Save this version as before-the-redesign, then try a more modern hero section.

Go back to how it was at the start of this session.

The last prompt restores the automatic checkpoint from before the assistant's first change. Ask for a named checkpoint before a larger experiment if you want another safe place to return to.

Reviewing#

Ask for a preview any time. For example:

Give me a preview link for the current draft. I want to review the Home, Services, and Contact pages on my phone before I publish.

You'll get a preview link that renders the draft exactly as the published site will look, with the same renderer and real data. It is valid for 24 hours. The assistant also verifies its own work with screenshots after each round, including the phone view.

Publishing is yours#

When you're happy, you click Publish in your editor. The assistant cannot publish, request publishing access, or work around that — by design. Publishing promotes the draft, archives the previous version, and starts a fresh draft so future edits never disturb the live site.

After you publish — the launch checklist#

The assistant walks it with you:

1. Favicon and logos in place.
2. Search titles and descriptions on every page.
3. A phone pass across the site.
4. Test the contact form — submit it, then confirm the message arrived in your Submissions inbox.
5. Old links redirect — if you imported, old addresses like /services.html now forward to your new pages.

Your own domain#

Want the site on your own domain? The assistant guides you through it: add the domain in Workspace → Settings → Custom Domain, point a CNAME record at ShopStable from your registrar, and verify. Your site serves on your domain with the same content — the peak of the launch.
